Description
The A. narinai has a flat disc shaped body which is either dark blue or black in colour. They have
white spots on the top of them and a white underbelly. They also have a flat
round snout that somewhat resembles a ducks bill, these become
more pointed in mature adults. These eagle rays have two "wings" that
they use to propel themselves through the water, these wings are located on the
sides of the ray. Their wingspans are usually the same length of the animals body or larger.
The spotted eagle ray has a tail that is 4 times longer than the body, longer than any other rays, their tails also have
2-6 venomous spines behind their pelvic fins. It has 5 gill slits on its underside next
to where the main body and the wings connect.
